Oil on canvas
Twenty-one canvases in oil: the working medium of most of Anahita's portraits and a good part of her seascapes. Oil lets her build a face slowly, keep amber and copper warm under a jewelled turban, and hold a wave crest wet against a paper-white sky. Sitters lean out of amber grounds; harbours rest at rose hour; a red sail slips past a domed shore; a girl in black lace watches from a cool ground. Most are painted at collection scale and signed at the lower right, with a small number at signature size. Frames, when fitted, are simple wood.
