About this work
This is one of Anahita’s larger imagined worlds. A phoenix banks in from the left with its long ribbon of tail feathers, while below a silver fish flings itself out of a bright ribbon of water. The hills are worked as slow curves of red and grey, opening onto a pale moon at the heart of the picture. Notice the sparse branch on the right, dotted with tiny pink flowers, that quietly frames the whole scene.
