About this work
You can hear this one before you see it: the gulls are calling and a wave is falling in from the right in ropes of white paint. Anahita has kept the sky soft and empty, all pinks and pale golds, so the birds have somewhere to fly. The water is done wet on wet, then combed through with a palette knife to catch the light on the ridges. Stand close and the foam is almost sculpture.
