Commissions

Commissions

Portraits, family and pet portraits, ceramic portraits and memorial pieces.

Anahita takes a small number of commissions each year. She likes them slow, because they are the pictures people live with the longest.

What she paints and sculpts to commission

Portraits of a single sitter, couples, families, pets, ceramic wall masks and reliefs, freestanding heads for the garden or the mantelpiece, and memorial or family pieces made to hold a name.

Prices

Every commission is priced by the same method that guides the rest of the catalogue, and the number is agreed in writing before any work begins. From-prices below cover the smallest size in each category:

  • Portrait of a person, from one thousand eight hundred pounds.
  • Family or pet portrait, from one thousand five hundred pounds.
  • Ceramic portrait, from three thousand five hundred pounds.

Larger pieces, framed pieces and ceramics with more complex glazes are priced by the same method; the pricing page has the plain-English version.

A forty percent deposit at brief sign secures the commission and puts you in the queue; the balance is paid on completion, before delivery.

How it works

  1. Brief. Write to the studio with a photograph or two, a rough idea of size, and a note about where the work will live. Anahita reads every enquiry personally, and Michael writes back with a proposed size, price and timeline.
  2. Deposit. Once brief, size and price are agreed in writing, a forty percent deposit secures the commission and puts you in the queue.
  3. Approval photograph. When the work is nearly finished, Anahita sends you a well-lit photograph. You may ask for changes; a small number are included.
  4. Completion. The balance is paid, the work is signed and either delivered by insured courier or collected from the studio in Anahita’s company.

Timescales

Timescales depend on the queue and on the season. Please write to ask about the current wait; Anahita will not commit to a delivery date she cannot honour.

Speak to Michael

All sale and commission arrangements go through Michael. Anahita paints; her son Michael looks after the price and the schedule. Please write to michael@mastermindpromotion.com.
