About this work

Anahita builds this one with palette-knife energy. The teal and white breakers cross the middle of the picture in a scatter of spray, and dark rocks emerge from the trough in the foreground. Overhead, plum and indigo streak the sky and a small white moon sits above the horizon with a lone gull for company. It is the kind of sea that feels rehearsed a hundred times: cold, moving, alive.
