About this work
A small portrait of a long-haired cat, painted directly onto vertical wooden boards so the grain reads through the black ground and gives the fur its texture. Notice the pale lemon eyes catching the light and the soft pink of the nose and mouth, and the ruff painted in loose flicks of silver-white that seem to still be moving. Quiet, direct, and full of character.
