About this work

Anahita loves a bird that carries itself well, and this one struts. The tail opens like a Persian fan, each feather struck in with a single confident brush. Notice how the turquoise ground breathes behind him, warm blue in one corner and cool in the next, so the cockerel keeps moving even when you stand still. She signs it plainly at the foot, the way she always does.
