About this work
This one is nearly all sky. A wash of scarlet fills the canvas and a small blue moon hangs like a coin against it, with a single gull tipped in flight. The sea rises along the base in a green and teal swell, the two elements meeting in a warm pink band that reads as horizon. Anahita often paints weather as feeling; here the mood is quiet awe, a moment held before the wave breaks.
