About this work
The viewer is under the water looking up, and the whole picture pivots on that single shaft of sunlight breaking the surface. The red hull sits like a small planet against the blue, tethered to a net that spills down through the light in a long, patient curve. Look at the tiny orange and pink fish that pick out the beam, and the deeper shadowed reef along the lower edge that grounds the composition. It is one of Anahita’s quieter seascapes, closer in feeling to night skies than to a coastal view, with the sea taking on the immensity of a sky.
