About this work
The pebbles are the surprise here. Most seascapes end at the waterline; this one keeps going into a bed of round stones at the very front, each catching a small purple gleam. Above that the sea rolls in three neat crests, and the whole thing is lit by that clean full moon top left. Look for the thin pink strip along the horizon, the last colour of the day before the night takes over.
