About this work

The whole sky is combed with light: hundreds of short strokes wheel around a golden moon while three gulls slip across the star field. Below, the sea rolls in three ranks of surf onto pebbles that glisten yellow, plum and deep blue. Notice how the direction of the brushmarks in the sky matches the curl of the waves, so that sea and sky read as one turning breath. Signed Anahita at the lower left.
