About this work
The whole picture is a breath of yellow air. One gull cuts across it in a single confident stroke, wing tips almost touching the pale disc of the sun. The masts on the left rise like fine reeds, everything softened by the harbour mist. Anahita has kept the water almost silver, so the eye rides out along that reflected road to the little boat beyond.
