About this work
A single figure is drawn against a pool of turquoise, balanced in a slow, deliberate backbend with one leg reaching for the sky. Anahita keeps the palette almost silent so the pose can carry the picture: cool aquamarine behind, warm ivory and pearl in the body, a whisper of blush at the shoulder. Notice how the drawn line stays visible under the paint, as if the picture is still thinking. She has dated it in the corner, quietly.
