About this work
This is a drawing that thinks in line first and colour second. Notice the swirling hair and cloud, drawn with the same curling energy so figures and weather feel made of one substance. The washes are careful: cool blues in the drapery, warm ochre in the manes, a single spear of green cutting through the corner. It has the quality of a story remembered from childhood, told again with a steady hand.
