About this work
A ceramic wall relief in Anahita’s quieter, more classical voice. The figure sits half-turned, holding a little handful of yellow blossom, and her cream-glazed body lifts clean out of a cobalt and verdigris ground worked all around her with foliage. Look at the base of the plaque where the clay is left rough and coral-like, so the whole piece seems to rise from a sea bed. She has signed it neatly along the bottom edge.
