Figures and nudes
The body at rest and in reverence. Anahita's figure paintings hold weight, weather and warmth, framed as she found them and given room to breathe against dark grounds.
Anahita paints figures the way she paints people: from long looking. The figures in this series are drawn from imagination, memory and the studio session, and framed as she found them, in whatever mahogany or gilt caught the piece best. Bodies are given room to breathe against dark grounds; the light falls softly, from one side.
Most are oil on canvas. Reference sizes are recorded from the frame and confirmed on collection.
