About this work
A pigeon in flight, painted into the well of a plain cream bowl, and its cousin standing on the bench with wings out as if just landed. Anahita often lets one motif migrate between forms: same bird, once as picture, once as object. Notice the pink feet in the painted bowl and the delicate feather ridges on the freestanding piece. They are meant to live together on a shelf.
