Life-size paper template
The Fish and the Simorgh
A printable outline at true size. Print all sheets at 100 per cent on A4, tape them edge to edge, and stand back to see the work on your wall. A short printer test on sheet one lets you check the scale before you commit to the whole set.
Measure this tile before you print the rest.
Measure the black rectangle across its longer side. It should read 200 mm within plus or minus 2 mm. If your reading is smaller, open your printer dialog, turn off "Fit to page" or "Shrink to fit", choose "Actual size" or 100 per cent, and reprint this sheet before printing the full template.
Reference rectangle: 200 mm x 100 mm.
Reference bar below, 100 mm across in 10 mm ticks.
How to hang the template
- Confirm sheet 1 measures 200 mm across before you print the rest.
- Print every remaining sheet at 100 per cent, one A4 per sheet.
- Lay the sheets out on the floor by row and column, matching the crop marks in each corner.
- Tape sheets edge to edge with low-tack tape; trim only the outer margins if you prefer a clean line.
- Fix the assembled template to your wall with low-tack tape. Live with it for a day before you decide.
- When you are ready, order the work through the studio and remove the template before delivery.
