Night skies

Anahita paints the night the way a quiet person listens. Across these canvases the sky is the subject and the ground is a whisper: a red cloud burning over a low horizon of scrub, a golden moon combed by hundreds of short strokes, three gulls slipping across a starlit sea, a bare winter tree beneath a hanging moon. The palette holds to cobalt, teal and paper whites, and the moon or the last of the light carries almost all the picture. Painted in oil or acrylic on canvas, each work is signed. Night skies remain one of the smaller collections in the studio.
